Established by a Costa Rican family in 1993, La Quinta is set within twenty acres and is surrounded by tropical rainforest, organic gardens with huge areas devoted to the regeneration of the humid tropical forest. Guests can swim in two inviting pools, wander scenic trails to the butterfly house, frog garden, and reforestation project, or explore the organic vegetable garden. Vibrant heliconias fill the ornamental gardens, where you may also glimpse a poison dart frog. One of the lodge’s three lakes provides a sanctuary for rescued alligators. La Quinta Lodge's on-site restaurant, El Patio, offers a variety of traditional Costa Rican dishes, featuring fresh produce, many sourced from ‘La Finca’, the lodge's sustainable seasonal fruit and vegetable farm. Enjoy meals in an open-air setting, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus available. Popular breakfast dishes include plantain, pinto and seasonal fruits, with quesadillas, burritos, sandwiches and salads available throughout the day at the cafeteria. As well as authentic local cuisine, international dishes are also available. Cooking classes are also available to allow guests to learn and experience local culinary traditions firsthand.
