Experience the outstanding natural beauty and iconic history of Ninh Binh in this full-day tour. After a pick-up from our hotel, we enjoy a scenic drive to an area of natural beauty, often referred to as ‘Ha Long Bay on land’. Once there, we meander lazily down the tranquil Ngo Dong river, passing foliage-topped limestone cliffs looming over the tranquil waters – don’t forget your camera to capture this stunning natural wonder.
Disembark the vessel and take a short walk to experience the quiet beauty of Thai Vi temple. Built in 1258 by King Tran Thai Tong to worship Buddha and the three saints, this stunning example of ancient architecture has an undeniable air of peace and tranquillity. Constructed from monolithic greenstone and boasting unique features such as pagodas, stone carvings and more, Thai Vi is a place that will not be easily forgotten. After time to explore and unwind, we walk through rice paddies to a secluded local restaurant surrounded by limestone mountains and lakes to enjoy a selection of local delicacies.
After lunch we continue the exploration of these magical lands with a walk to the village of Van Lam Hamlet, known for its traditional lace embroidery practices. Meet with friendly locals and hear how they preserve this 700-year-old craft in modern times before having a go yourself! You will receive a small embroidery gift before transferring back to Hanoi with wonderful memories of this special place.
