This tour takes us on a 2,5-hr drive to the heart of the Anglo-Zulu battlefields of January 1879, made famous by Michael Caine in the film "Zulu". Isandlwana was the first-ever defeat of a British regiment by an African army. The British force of 1837 men at Isandlwana was eventually routed by the Zulu Army of almost 15000 Impis (soldiers). An early-morning drive of approx 2,5 hrs takes us to the foot of Sani Pass in the Drakensberg Mountains, gateway to the landlocked independent country of Lesotho, often referred to as "the mountain kingdom". Passports are required for the border crossing. We then travel in 4x4 vehicles up the steep & winding road to the top of Sani Pass, where we have spectacular views into South Africa. Enjoy..
