The Cultural Banana Tour offers a unique opportunity to learn about the history and significance of bananas in Costa Rica.
The experience begins with an educational talk detailing the role of bananas in the country’s culture and economy. Walk through the plantation and gain an insight into their rural practices including organic planting and harvesting. Hear how plant disease affects the industry and how farmers manage these challenges. End the tour with a mini-cookery class, learning to prepare traditional dishes such as patacones (sliced plantain) with ground beans or plantain mince.
