The Melbourne Food and Wine Festival once again returns for 2015, taking place in Queensbridge Square and other areas of Melbourne between February 27th and March 15th. This is one event we would love to visit on our holidays to Australia!
Once again, the event is expected to be highly popular with both locals and tourists alike, with a variety of activities lined up for the festival, as well as demonstrations and food provided by a number of renowned Australian and international chefs, including British baker Justin Gellatly, who baked the bread for the Royal Wedding.
Guests will certainly be able to get involved in the festival as well, with a number of small hands-on workshops available to take part in. The festival’s famous ‘Essentials’ masterclasses will be some of the most popular, where guests can learn a certain skill in depth, including pickling, making pizzas and making cocktails.
The event will be opening with a spectacular lunch in Fitzroy Gardens, where a table over half a kilometre long will seat over 1500 diners ready to enjoy the first tastes of the festival. Other attractions of the festival will include wine-tasting, a working bakery, a tie-in with the Melbourne International Coffee Expo, and the opportunity to sample a menu designed to match pieces of music, which will be played simultaneously by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
