New Zealand sure isn’t short of impressive landscapes, nor is its natural beauty easy to top. So when touring New Zealand, it’s safe to say you’re spoilt for choice. But, to make sure you don’t miss out on the best views in New Zealand, we’ve put together a quick run down of the places you simply have to see!
Milford Sound
New Zealand landscapes don’t get much better than this. Iconic in its beauty, you’re surrounded by a land of towering mountains, pounding waterfalls, glistening waters, craggy cliffs and many enchanting National Parks. If you’re making a list of what to see in New Zealand, Milford Sound needs to be on it.
Rotorua
A hub of geothermal activity, there are geysers sprouting in no particular pattern from the ground, mud pools bubbling to toasty temperatures and colourful hot springs glinting under the rays of the sun. Not only are the photo opportunities endless, but with 17 lakes in the vicinity many people also come here for water sports.
The Remarkables
You’ll find this ragged mountain range on the south eastern shore of Lake Wakatipu, its sharp peaks creating an impressive backdrop making the range worthy of its “remarkables” name. As well as making up one of the most breath-taking landscapes in New Zealand, in the winter, the ranges are a skier’s paradise.
Moeraki Boulders
Here we have one of the places you must visit in New Zealand due to its unbelievably unique natural formation. Maori legend says that these giant spherical boulders are remnants of cargo which were washed up when the canoe that brought the local tribes’ ancestors to the country was shipwrecked. Ranging from 1.6 to 7.2 feet in diameter, they’re even more intriguing in real life, than they are in photos.
Bay of Islands
More than 140 subtropical islands make up the beautiful Bay of Islands. Its warm waters offer world-famous diving and snorkelling, while its golden beaches invite you to relax in the sun, as you take in the impressive island-spotted landscape. And if you’re lucky, you may even get to see dolphins. With such stunning surroundings and calming atmosphere, it’s no wonder it was the site of New Zealand’s first permanent British settlement!
Our enchanting New Zealand tours take you to all of these breath-taking landscapes, as well as many more, making sure you won’t miss out on those picture perfect moments.
