Highlights:
- Experiencing desert life
Tour Description:
Situated at the base of the West MacDonnell Ranges and just 10 minutes’ drive from Alice Springs, Alice Springs Desert Park is an authentic recreation of the different desert habitats and life as it has been lived by the local indigenous Arrernte people for thousands of years.
Our morning tour includes return transfers and admission to the Desert Park. It’s the perfect tour for those who wish to explore without taking the full day Western MacDonnell tour. On arrival you will receive a park programme and map with the times and locations of the daily presentations, and you can explore and enjoy the park at your own pace.
Throughout its 54 hectares, the park is divided into three distinct desert habitats – Desert Rivers, Sand Country and Woodland. Guided presentations, a free flying bird show and the opportunity to see endangered animals in the Nocturnal House are just some of the park’s many highlights.
A visit to Alice Springs Desert Park is a wonderful way to experience desert life as it really is, in the arid Red Centre of Australia.
